FTL works best for urgent, high-value, or large shipments that require the entire truck’s capacity.
There are no additional drop-offs or pickups, so the shipment reaches its destination sooner.
Makes it easier for you to ship goods of different shapes and sizes.
There are no stops of the way, hence less risk of handling damage.
Our fleet features a variety of equipment types to accommodate any of your shipping & capacity needs.
FTL (Full Truckload) trucking involves the transportation of goods that fill an entire truck, typically going from one origin to one destination. In contrast, LTL (Less Than Truckload) trucking involves consolidating shipments from multiple customers into a single truck, which may make multiple stops.
FTL rates are usually calculated based on several factors, primarily the distance traveled, type of goods being transported, fuel costs, and any additional services required (e.g., expedited delivery, special handling).
The primary advantages of FTL trucking include faster transit times since the truck goes directly from origin to destination, reduced risk of damage as the goods are handled less frequently, and more control over the shipment’s schedule.
A shipment typically qualifies for FTL trucking if it fills most or all of a truck’s capacity, either by weight (usually over 15,000 pounds) or volume (taking up the majority of the trailer space). If your shipment does not meet these criteria, LTL trucking may be more cost-effective. Keep in mind that certain types of goods might require specialized containers such as refrigeration units for perishable goods.
Goods that are best suited for FTL trucking include large, high-volume shipments, items that require minimal handling, fragile or high-value items that benefit from reduced handling, and time-sensitive shipments that need to be delivered quickly and directly.
